Guess the Right Price
Project range: Late September 2023- Mid November 2023

IxD Design project involving a mobile app called “Guess the Right Price,” based on “The Price is Right.” The app was intentionally designed in a flawed way, and we had to solve the interaction problems and user experience, with a certain amount of care given to the calculator used to pick the price.

Original App UIs
The original app shares an art style with most other
mobile apps today.

The biggest issues are as follows:

-
Money is useless once earned

-
No real motivation to advance in levels

-
Price range is to broad, making guessing the right price borderline impossible

-
Minigames make it easier to earn money than the actual main game

-
The calculator used by the player to select their guess is overcomplicated
Initial Concept Redesign
High Fidelity Mockup
The final design simplified everything, including the graphics, in order to draw more attention to the objects and their prices in the game. Furthermore, onboarding/tutorial features were added to walk the user through the gameplay, a feature missing from the original. Due to the extensive length of the high-fidelity prototype, only highlights will be shown here.
